Wikipedia - Colors of noise

Did you even know there are different colors of noise? Well, there are. White, Pink, Brown, Red, Blue, Purple, Grey (the best).

The things you learn at 3:03am.

I only know this because I am a huge synthesizer nerd, and you use different noise colors to make different sounds. White noise is good for snares, etc.

The physical connection between the sound and light spectrums/wave-lengths must exist in some form, though I am not sure if it has been fully proven.  Some of my teachers (pianists particularly) would claim that after playing professionally for 30 years+, they could start to play/improvise in colors.  Of course, none of us could hear or see what they were taking about to prove or refute their genius.
